Dutch-American Hedwig M. Heerschop is a photographer, educator and printmaker who lives and works in Santa Cruz and Monterey County, California. She completed her Master of Fine Arts/Photography at San José State University.

Hedwig works with alternative photographic processes including historic 19th century printing techniques, mixed media, and hand made books. She taught Alternative Processes in Photographic Media at San José State University and taught a two-week workshop in Cyanotype and GumBichromate printing techniques at Cabrillo College Summer Arts 2013. She assisted in workshops with Brian Taylor, Dan Estabrook, Holly Roberts, Dan Burkholder, Harold Davis and Steve Zmak.

Hedwig curated a national exhibit, Photo Alchemy, at Pajaro Valley Arts Council (PVAC) and produced an accompanying catalog. Hedwig’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions, including Breaking Boundaries, in Pingyao, China and Made in Holland in Naarden, The Netherlands.

Currently Hedwig divides her time working as Program Coordinator at the Center for Photographic Art (CPA) in Carmel, CA, http://www.photography.org and as Exhibit Coordinator at Pajaro Valley Arts Council (PVAC) in Watsonville, CA, pajarovalleyartscouncil.org She is Chair of the Executive Board of Printmakers At The Tannery (PATT), Santa Cruz, CA http://www.pattpress.org Board Member at the Santa Cruz Art League (SCAL), Santa Cruz, CA http://www.scal.org and Gallery Committee Member at the Pajaro Valley Arts Council (PVAC), Watsonville, CA.
